Luxury Vinyl Plank
Also known as LVP, are highly resistant to the daily wear and tear of a busy household. It's built with multiple layers, including a wear layer that acts as a shield against scuffs, scratches and stains. Making this type of flooring ideal for homes with kids, pets, and high traffic like entryways or kitchens. It's also waterproof, and the layered construction also helps reduce noise. Not to mention that you can achieve the look that you want of natural materials without the high-end price.
Ceramic Tile
This option is a non-porous, water-resistant, incredibly tough and long-lasting material. It's designed to withstand heavy-foot traffic or any wet areas. This surface also doesn't hold on to dust, pollen, or pet dander. It is highly resistant to scratches, dents, water, moisture and stains. In the rear occasion that a tile does get damaged, it is easy to replace a single tile rather than redoing the entire floor. Although the initial cost of ceramic tile may be higher than some of the other flooring options, it’s durable for decades and a low maintenance option, which can make it a cost-effective option choice over the long term.
Porcelain tile
Not only a beautiful option, but they are truly built to last. It's highly resistant to scratches, chips, heavy wear, even in the busiest homes or commercial spaces. Porcelain is also impervious and stain resistant. Many porcelain tiles are a "through-body" meaning that the color runs all the way through the tile not just on the surface, which makes any damage far less noticeable. This option also can withstand freeze-thaw cycles without cracking, which makes it the perfect material for your outdoor patio and pools. Porcelain offers beauty and design flexibility of other materials with a level of durability, water resistance and low-maintenance convenience.
Laminate
Offers the perfect blend of style, durability and affordability. This option is a fraction of the cost of solid hardwood, natural stone, or ceramic tile, making this an excellent option for large spaces or a full-house renovation on a budget. Laminate also has a multi-layer construction with a durable, transparent "wear layer" which is highly resistant to scratches, scuffs and fading from sunlight. Although it's not fully waterproof like vinyl or tile, many modern laminates are now water-resistant, which protects your floors from spills if they are cleaned up in a timely manner. It's smooth surface also means it won't trap dust, dirt or allergens. This option allows you to achieve the high-end look you want, without the high-end price tag, while providing a tough, easy-to-care-for surface that can handle the demands of a busy household.
Carpet
A classic option that offers a unique blend of comfort, safety and warmth that no other flooring option can provide. Beyond feel, carpet provides excellent thermal insulation, helping keep your home warmer in the winter and potentially lowering your heating bills. Carpet is a natural sound-absorber making it a great option for a quieter and more peaceful environment for multi-story homes, apartments or any busy household. Not to mention that carpet provides a soft non-slip surface that can help cushion any falls, making it ideal for households with young children, seniors or anyone with mobility issues. It can provide improvement in air quality as it is a passive air filter, trapping dust, pollen and other airborne particles in its fibers keeping them from circulating in the air you breathe. It is also the most cost-effective options on the market and installation can be a quicker process.
